PARIS, France — Kenny Atkinson, the Cleveland Cavaliers' new head coach, is in Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Atkinson is serving as the France men's national basketball team's assistant coach.
Before joining Cleveland on June 28, Atkinson served as the assistant coach of the Golden State Warriors. Previously, he was head coach of the Brooklyn Nets from 2016-2020.
When Atkinson arrived in Cleveland, 3News spoke with him about his role in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
"NBC is really going to love showing those games. I think I am going to come back a better coach. I have already learned. The feel of the game is so different. I have already learned a few things that I am going to use with the Cavaliers... Of course, it is in Paris, so I am going to enjoy it too," said Atkinson.
