INDIANAPOLIS — Ohio swimmer Hunter Armstrong, who is a native of Dover, is heading to the 2024 Paris Olympics after qualifying in the men’s 100m freestyle final Wednesday during the swim trials in Indianapolis.
As a result, Armstrong, who is 23 years old, is set to compete in Paris as part of Team USA’s men’s 4x100m freestyle relay with Caeleb Dressel, Chris Guiliano and Jack Alexy.
When asked for his prediction in Paris after qualifying, Armstrong made a quick joke referencing an iconic skit from Saturday Night Live in response to a jibe from Australian swimming legend Cate Campbell.
“I think we definitely want that world record,” Armstrong said. “But most importantly… We need more cowbell.”
