Appearing on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Wednesday, Miocic provided some insight into his plans for the coming year. And while he hinted at already knowing who his next opponent will be, he wasn't willing to share who it is.

"I'm definitely going to be fighting this year, I'll just throw it out there," Miocic told McAfee. "I'm not going to tell you who though."

Pressed by McAfee on whether he knew who his future opponent was, Miocic replied: "Maybe I do. Maybe I do. I don't know."

While Miocic may not have been willing to name an opponent, a couple of obvious candidates stand out.

Most notably, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones has made the jump to the heavyweight division and could be in line for an immediate title match. Additionally, Francis Ngannou -- who Miocic defeated by unanimous decision at UFC 220 during his first heavyweight title reign -- has won his past four fights by knockout and is currently considered the top contender in the heavyweight division.

But regardless of who he's squaring off with, the 2-time UFC heavyweight champion made it clear he's "pumped" for the fight, which is expected to take place in the first half of the year.

"I'm always excited," Miocic said. "I love it. I love what I do."
