Planet CLE: Jakprints' environmentally friendly mission

Printing company plants more than 400,000 trees

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A local company is working to reduce run off that ends up in Lake Erie, among other measures to go-green.

Jakprints is redefining what it means to be an eco-friendly printer.

“As a large manufacturing print company we understand the impact that we have on the environment,” explains Leadership Team Member, Christopher Marinin.

“From paper to waste, our inks all the materials involved with other process, it’s very important that we give back to the earth.”

For every order placed at Jakprints, a tree is planted in developing African countries.

Recently, the company hit a milestone, planting more than 400,000 trees.

“We help families either try to raise money through fruit bearing trees or they can feed their families,  but regardless these are trees that are planted to families in need.” says Marinin.

With facilities in Cleveland, Eastlake and Oceanside, California, they understand the importance of being environmentally friendly.

"It's important that we spend the extra money, that our chemicals, if they were to end up in the drains, they don't affect wildlife, they won't affect the beautiful fresh body of water."
