CLEVELAND — It has now been one year since the city of Cleveland restarted its recycling program, and today we’re taking a closer look at the impacts here in Northeast Ohio.
There are now approximately 70,000 homes participating in the program, which is more than double since last year.
But there’s still work to be done.
“There’s still half of the city that still needs to join the recycling program,” says Ren Brumfield, the city’s recycling coordinator. “As long as we don’t have everyone in, I’m not going to be happy. We all need to do it so we can do it really well, so we can take all that stuff out of the landfill. That’s going to make us a whole lot better.”
