This week's story involves the men and women of our armed forces. People who get injured, but often can't get the resources they need.
Challenge America put together teams here in Cleveland with the goal of building solutions for seven veterans, each with very specific needs.
The program is called Challenge America Makers for Veterans (CAMVETS), which starts with the needs of veterans (or Challenge Knowers), empowering them to tell organizers what they need and then to be a part of making the solution.
Each veteran is assigned a team of makers, with engineers, designers, tech innovators, and more. The team then works around the clock for 3 days to build solutions for each vet's need.
While men dominated these teams, the women we met are big advocates of encouraging young girls to follow in their footsteps, even if STEM subjects seem intimidating.
