SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — Heads up!

Some traffic changes are coming later this year to a stretch of I-271 in Summit County.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said they are planning a construction project along four miles of I-271 between Hines Hill Road and state Route 82. This includes pavement resurfacing, retaining wall repairs and miscellaneous repairs to multiple culvert pipes and bridges.

Construction on the $7.6 million project is scheduled to start this summer and continue into the fall.

So what can you expect?

“During construction, traffic on I-271 will be reduced to a minimum of one lane in each direction,” ODOT officials said Friday. “There will be a five-day closure and signed detour on Brandywine Road and Hines Hills Road at I-271 to complete bridge repairs. Additionally, all driveway access will be maintained. Roadside electronic message signs will be used to alert motorists of an upcoming detour.”
