New closures begin in Akron involving I-277, Kenmore Leg: See the list of impacts and detours

ODOT shared a map of the detours on their Facebook page that shows all the traffic impacts drivers in Akron can expect from Aug. 19 through mid-September.

AKRON, Ohio — There are some new traffic impacts for drivers who use I-277 and the I-76/Kenmore Leg in Akron as the Ohio Department of Transportation lists the following closures that will be in place for resurfacing from Aug. 19 through Saturday, Sept. 7:

  • I-277/US 224 westbound between I-77 and I-76/Kenmore Leg will be closed for bridge repairs and resurfacing. The detour will be I-77 northbound to I-76 westbound to I-76/Kenmore Leg.
  • The ramp from I-77 northbound to I-277/US 224 westbound will be closed. The detour will be I-77 northbound to I-76 westbound to I-76/Kenmore Leg.
  • The ramp from Main Street to I-277 westbound will be closed. The detour will be SR 619 West to State Street to I-76 West.
  • The Waterloo Rd. ramp to I-277 westbound will be closed. The detour will be SR 619 west to I-76 westbound ramp at Wooster Road.

The following impacts are slated for Aug. 19 through mid-September:

  • I-76/Kenmore Leg eastbound/northbound will be closed through mid-September for bridge repairs and resurfacing. The detour will be I-277 eastbound to I-77 northbound to I-76.
  • The ramp from Kenmore Boulevard to I-76/Kenmore Leg eastbound/northbound will be closed through mid-September. The detour will be Kenmore Boulevard to Manchester Road to I-277 eastbound to I-77 northbound to I-76.
