Sheetz to offer gas at $1.776 a gallon in celebration of 4th of July

The discount applies to all fuels except diesel and will run for the entire day.

ALTOONA, Pa. — The Fourth of July — the perfect day to have a cookout, watch fireworks, and... fill up your gas tank?

Well, this year, the latter might be your favorite part of the occasion. That's because Sheetz has decided to celebrate America's independence by offering gas at the low price of $1.776 a gallon.

"Sheetz is a family owned and operated company and we are always looking for ways to assist the communities and customers that we serve," Sheetz President and CEO Travis Sheetz said in a statement. "We hope this discount helps our customers keep a little more change in their wallets as they travel to celebrate the 4th of July with friends and family, with an obvious nod to our nation’s birthday."

The discount applies to all regular fuels as well as E85 flex fuel, ethanol free fuel, and unleaded 88. Diesel fuel is not included in the promotion.

This is not the first time Sheetz has offered cheaper gas around the holidays, as the company lowered Unleaded 88 prices to $3.99 a gallon last July 4 amid sky-high costs following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Unleaded 88 was also just $1.99 this past Thanksgiving, but now the family has elected to slash prices for almost all of its options.

The $1.776 promotion begins at 12:01 a.m. and lasts all day. To find a location near you, head to Sheetz.com.
