Portion of I-480 west reopens following 4-vehicle crash in Brooklyn Heights

Police say the incident occurred just west of the Lancaster Drive overpass. All westbound lanes were shut down between that point and state Route 176.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Ohio — A portion of Interstate 480 west has reopened following a crash in Brooklyn Heights Monday afternoon.

According to police, the incident occurred just west of the Lancaster Drive overpass at mile marker 18 and involved four vehicles. All westbound lanes were shut down between that point and state Route 176, with traffic backed up all the way towards the I-77 interchange to the east.

Drivers were being directed off the highway via the state Route 17 (Granger Road) exit as authorities cleared debris. The road reopened around 2 p.m. Further details are not known at this time.
