Heavy flooding reported on I-480 near North Olmsted subsides

North Olmsted police officials say that heavy flooding has caused cars to hydroplane and spin out.

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — UPDATE as of 3:09 p.m. on Sunday:

North Olmsted police officials say that ODOT responded and the overflow of water has subsided.

The North Olmsted Police Department is warning drivers that there is heavy flooding on I-480 East before the Stearns Road exit. Police say that cars are hydroplaning and spinning out in the area due to the flooding.

"Please drive safely and slowly when driving in the area," said North Olmsted police officials. 

Additionally, police officials say that ODOT has been made aware of the situation "numerous times."
