Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates fatal crash involving motorcycle

One person died and another person was seriously injured.

NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio — EDITOR'S NOTE: The video in the player above is from a previous, unrelated story.

The Akron Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a car.

It happened Sunday evening at 6:53 p.m. at South Turkeyfoot Rd. and Lake Front Dr. in New Franklin. 

Troopers say a 2017 Nissan Rogue was heading south on South Turkeyfoot Rd. when it apparently turned onto Lake Front Dr. in front of a motorcycle. the motorcycle hit the Rogue, which was driven by 59-year-old Robert Isenberg.

There were two people on the motorcycle. 63-year-old Gregory Zoldesy of Stow was driving the motorcycle. He was taken to Akron City Hospital and later died from his injuries. 58-year-old Laura Rager, also of Stow, was the passenger on the bike. She was seriously injured and was taken to Akron General Hospital.

Neither of the people on the motorcycle were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Rogue suffered minor injuries. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says alcohol is expected to have contributed to the crash. Officials are still investigating.
