BEREA, Ohio — The Ohio Turnpike is getting a facelift.
Spring construction is underway on the turnpike in an effort to fix some of its major issues.
“More than ever during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ohio Turnpike’s role as a nationally ranked freight corridor is essential to move freight where it’s needed most to help Americans in the battle against an unseen enemy,” said Executive Director of the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Committee, Ferzan M. Ahmed, P.E.
The goal of the committee is to maintain at least two lanes of traffic for travelers, but that some one lane sections may be unavoidable, which they hope to only have during off-peak times.
