State Route 8 in Akron re-opens following multi-vehicle crash

AKRON, Ohio — Drivers in Akron were being asked to find a new route on Thursday afternoon.

Akron police posted on Facebook that State Route 8 South at Tallmadge Avenue was closed due to a multi-vehicle accident. All drivers were being asked to avoid the area.

Since, the road has re-opened.

ODOT previously reported that all lanes were closed on SR-8 South/SR-59 West beyond SR-261/Tallmadge Ave, due to a crash.

No other information has been released at this time.
