Drivers on the Ohio Turnpike are currently experiencing heavy delays in both directions following a "serious" crash on the highway Thursday afternoon in Lorain County.
The Ohio Department of Transportation says the accident occurred westbound at milepost 150.7 just after 4 p.m. Westbound drivers are currently being delayed by roughly two hours, while eastbound is slowed down about a half hour.
Due to the incident, the on-ramp from Interstate 480 west to the turnpike has been closed. All westbound turnpike traffic is also being forced to exit onto Lorain Road in North Ridgeville, while other westbound drivers are asked to try to get off at I-71.
This is a developing story. Please stay with WKYC for updates.
