Semi-truck rollover closes all lanes on I-90 East at Dead Man's Curve in downtown Cleveland

The roadway was finally reopened in time for the Monday morning commute.

CLEVELAND — All lanes on I-90 east at Dead Man's Curve in Cleveland were closed after a semi-truck rollover crash on Sunday evening.

The highway reopened during the overnight hours of Monday in time for the morning commute.

According to Lt. Mike Norman of the Cleveland Division of Fire, workers had nearly cleared the scene before midnight "when a driver went through police vehicles and drove into the cables being used to stand the semi back up." That kept the highway closed and brought new wreckers to the scene.

A 36-year-old man was taken to University Hospitals in serious condition, according to Cleveland EMS.

Norman said the semi was leaking diesel fuel, but Cleveland fire crews were able to get its absorbent truck on scene to soak up the fuel.

Additional details on the cause of the crash have not been revealed at this time.
