MINERVA, Ohio - Three people died Saturday morning after a car and school bus collided during freezing rain near Minerva.

16-year-old Savannah Russell lost control of her vehicle on the road, which was covered with ice, and struck a school bus. Russell was pronounced dead at the scene.

Storm Angione, 19 of Paris, Ohio and A'llyia Hancock, 18 of Minerva were in the vehicle with Russell. Angione and Hancock were also pronounced dead at the scene.

The school bus driver sustained minor injuries. No students on the bus were injured.

Ohio State Highway Patrol said the accident happened around 9 a.m. Saturday on US 30, near the village of Minerva.

Minerva Fire and EMS were on the scene. The Lisbon Patrol Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
