PLYMOUTH, Ohio — While saying he's "heartbroken" by the impact of strong storms that swept through portions of Ohio on Thursday night, one man in Richland County tells 3News he's lucky that his family and neighbors are safe.
“I was at work, but my wife was home by herself," Chad Stumbo told 3News' Austin Love when recounting what happened during the storm. "I’m watching the alerts on TV, texting her and I said, ‘Get in the basement.’ She did. Then five minutes later she was like, ‘I don’t know what happened.’"

Stumbo said he also contacted his neighbor who told him to get home as soon as the storm cleared.
"I did, and this is what I came home to," he said while gesturing to damage on his West Road property where siding had been ripped from his home and the windshield of his truck was shattered. "We were lucky compared to what my neighbor across the road has.”
He said the community has been coming together in the hours after the storm.
The storms also impacted other communities throughout the state, including Indian Lake in Logan County. You can see some of that damage in the video below.
