Air Quality Advisory for several Northeast Ohio counties extended through Tuesday

Air quality levels will be unhealthy for sensitive groups during this period.

CLEVELAND — NOACA, the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordiating Agency, has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Ground Level Ozone for the following counties through Tuesday:

  • Ashtabula
  • Cuyahoga
  • Geauga
  • Lake 
  • Lorain
  • Medina
  • Portage
  • Summit

Air quality levels will be unhealthy for sensitive groups during this period. If you are in the sensitive groups category of children, the elderly and those with breathing difficulties, you are advised to monitor your outdoor activity and check air quality readings at airnow.gov

Also, to help the region reduce air pollution, the following is recommended by the National Weather Service:

  • Drive less: bike, walk, use transit, work from home, combine trips
  • Don`t idle - Turn off your engine
  • Refill your tank after sunset
  • Wait to mow the lawn
