FORECAST | Weather Impact Alert Friday: Rain and strong winds

Widespread rain returns with wind Friday.

CLEVELAND — We will be watching for impacts on the roads going into Friday morning drive. Some of us, especially to the east, will be waking up to slushy to slick roadways. Take it slow on your way in!

FRIDAY RAIN - HOURLY

Luckily, warmer air will work in here Friday morning, changing any lake effect snow over to lake effect rain. Another surge of moisture comes in later Friday morning into the afternoon with a solid area of rain. To make things worse, we'll see our wind ramp up again as the low pressure swings east with gusts over 40 mph at times. The combination of the driving rain and wind will make for another impactful day.

Lake effect rain continues Friday night into Saturday before we finally dry things out. Sunday will feature variable clouds, but dry conditions with temps near 50.

WEEKEND PREVIEW

Attention then turns toward next week -- a big travel week and obviously Thanksgiving. All indication is that there will be another strong storm system developing and moving through the Ohio Valley. Rain, wind and a "shovelable" snowfall will all be possible depending on the track of this low. Stay tuned to the latest forecasts as we lead up to this next potentially impactful storm!
