CLEVELAND — It's a slushy start for many locations as our first snow of the season laid down anywhere from a coating to 7 inches across northern Ohio. Here are some of our area totals from last evening and last night:
We'll do it all over again today, but with rain and wind. There's no other way to put it -- this afternoon and evening looks downright gross.
This all stems from a strong low pressure that's cranking up along the east coast. This low will sling a ton of moisture our way. In combination with continued cool air coming over our warm lake -- we'll add some lake enhancement to our rain making for some moderate to heavy bursts at times. Overall it looks like a very wet and windy afternoon and evening.
Lake rain will linger into tonight and Saturday before winding down. Highs will push into the mid 40s Saturday. Sunday will feature dry weather -- finally -- with temps that rise to near 50.
Attention then turns to another active weather week and just in time for holiday travel. A cold front will bring showers through here Monday into Tuesday. Another system gets going sometime Wednesday into Thursday (Thanksgiving), bringing rain and snow before we look to turn much colder behind this system next weekend. This would likely set up several days of lake effect snow. Timing and track of this storm will still change, so we can't lock anything in yet. Stay tuned!
