CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service has issued the following high wind alerts for northeast Ohio:
*HIGH WIND WARNING for Ottawa, Sandusky, Erie, Lorain, Seneca and Huron Counties from 7 a.m.Wednesday to 11 p.m. Wednesday.
*WIND ADVISORY for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Huron, Medina, Summit, Portage, Richland, Ashland, Wayne, Stark and Holmes Counties from 7 a.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday.
*WIND ADVISORY for Ashtabula, Trumbull and Mahoning Counties from 10 a.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday.
High winds are expected to develop across northern Ohio by early Wednesday morning as an intense low pressure system brings rain and heavy snow to the Upper Midwest just in time for the busiest travel day of the year.

Winds will gust to near 60 mph in the warning areas across northern Ohio, with gusts to 50 mph expected in the advisory area.
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive according to the National Weather Service.
Some power outages are possible as well.
