The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF1 tornado touched down in Carrollton Saturday afternoon.
The EF1 ranking indicates that the tornado produced winds ranging from 86 to 110 miles per hour.
The NWS says the tornado touched down in a wooded area off of Crest Street around 5:40 p.m. The twister continued its course, damaging several trees, mobile homes and causing minor damage to roof shingles.
No injures or deaths were reported.
The is the eighth documented tornado in Carrollton since 1950, and the first since July 2013.
