CLEVELAND — It's going to be a very windy day across Northeast Ohio as temperatures surge into the 50s ahead of rainy conditions.
It's all because of another system impacting Northeast Ohio as changes start picking up early Wednesday morning. The following counties are under a wind advisory from 4 a.m.-7 p.m. where gusts could reach up to 50 mph:
- Ashland
- Ashtabula (lakeshore only)
- Cuyahoga
- Huron
- Erie
- Lake
- Lorain
- Richland
Sustained winds of 20-30 miles per hour should be expected. 3News meteorologist Matt Wintz says morning commutes will be impacted.
Of course, this won't be like our last winter storm, as temperatures are expected to be in the 50s at points this week. However, the remaining snow melting coupled with heavy rain over the next few days could lead to significant flooding, and the following counties will be under a flood watch beginning Wednesday evening until late Thursday night:
- Ashland
- Ashtabula
- Cuyahoga
- Erie
- Geauga
- Huron
- Lake
- Lorain
- Medina
- Portage
- Richland
- Stark
- Summit
- Trumbull
- Wayne
"Rain on top of snow melt on top of a ground that can't soak it in is going to be problematic," Wintz said.
Then as we head into Friday, temps will drop sharply back into the 20s, and the rain will begin to turn into snow. In addition, ice could be a major issue through the weekend.
