CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for several Northeast Ohio counties on Monday afternoon. The warning is in effect until 3:45 p.m.
The following areas will be impacted:
- Cuyahoga County (northeast portion)
- Geauga County
- Lake County
- Trumbull County (northwest portion)
- Ashtabula County (western portion)
According to the National Weather Service, at 2:58 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Highland Hills, or 12 miles east of Cleveland, moving northeast at 55 mph. The storm featues 60 mph wind gusts. Expect damage to trees and power lines.
Some of the impacted areas include Cleveland, Painesville, Willowick, Chardon, Fairport Harbor, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Euclid, Mentor, Cleveland Heights, Solon, Willoughby, Eastlake, Warrensville Heights, Geneva, South Russell, Madison, Middlefield, North Bloomfield, Perry and Orwell.
The 3News Weather team says this week will be a roller coaster ride in Northeast Ohio. After a weekend of warm weather, for the next several days, highs will be stuck in the 40s. We warm back into the 60s by the upcoming weekend.
