Akron, Cleveland, Canton open warming centers amid winter snow storm

3News has compiled a list of warming centers that will be open across Northeast Ohio during the winter storm.

CLEVELAND — As Northeast Ohio faces a winter storm and a continued cold front, many cities are opening up warming shelters. 

3News has compiled a list of warming centers by city in Northeast Ohio. We will continue to add to this list as we learn of more shelters. 

Akron 

  • Akron Emergency Overnight Shelter | 111 East Voris Street
    • Open until Monday, Jan. 22 
    • 7 p.m.-8 a.m. 
  • Summit Lake Community Center 
    • Friday, Jan. 19 
    • 8 a.m.-7 p.m.

“Summit Lake Community Center has several private events scheduled for Saturday, so we’ve made the decision to open up Mason Park Community Center as a dedicated warming center in its place,” said Mayor Shammas Malik. “Temperatures are expected to rise following Saturday, but we will continue to monitor and adjust as needed. I encourage anyone in need to utilize the warming center.”

Canton
