Severe thunderstorm warning now in effect for Trumbull County until 6:15 p.m.

Earlier warnings for Ashtabula, Geauga, Medina, and Wayne counties have since expired.

CLEVELAND — The National Weather Service has been issuing severe thunderstorm warnings all afternoon across Northeast Ohio, with the latest alert in effect for Trumbull County until 6:15 p.m.

Officials say the most recent storm was spotted over Creston around 5:13 p.m. moving east at 35 mph. Warren is among the communities in the storm's current path.

Besides heavy rain, the NWS says these storms could bring wind gusts of up to 60 mph along with quarter-sized hail. Damage to trees and power lines should also be expected.

Earlier severe thunderstorm warnings for portions of Ashtabula, Geauga, Medina, and Wayne counties have since expired. Those in the impacted areas should move to either an interior room or the lowest floor of their homes as soon as possible.
