CLEVELAND — Northeast Ohioans are starting to dig themselves out of the heavy snow that has hit our region on Friday. But just how much snow have we seen so far in Greater Cleveland and elsewhere?
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, Maple Heights has gotten the most snow of any area in Northeast Ohio since the storm began. Other communities like Cleveland Heights, Macedonia, and Parma have also been pounded.
Here are some of the total snow amounts on the ground as of late Friday night:
- Maple Heights - 14 inches
- Cleveland Heights - 12 inches
- Macedonia - 12 inches
- Parma - 10 inches
- Elyria - 9 inches
- Harpersfield Township - 9 inches
- Brunswick - 8 inches
- Hinckley - 8 inches
- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport - 7 inches
- Chardon - 7 inches
- Concord Township - 7 inches
- Edinburg Township - 7 inches
- Mentor - 5 inches
- Alliance - 5 inches
- Doylestown - 5 inches
- Mansfield - 4 inches
- Akron-Canton Regional Airport
- Huron - 3 inches
Keep in mind that we're not done with the snow yet. The Winter Storm Warning for Ashtabula, Geauga, and Lake counties is in effect until 10 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Erie and Huron counties will be under the Winter Storm Warning until 4 a.m. Sunday.
3News' Isabel Lawrence spoke with Lynda Lambert, media spokesperson for AAA East Central Region (NE Ohio, Western PA, NW West Virginia, Western Kentucky), who gave the following information AAA compiled during the storm:
Calls received since Wed Jan 17th:17,292 total calls
- 6,812 were for battery tests & dead battery jump starts
- 5,820 were for tows
- 1,590 were for tire changes
