National Weather Service confirms Saturday tornado in Portage County

The tornado touched down at 2:32 p.m. in Brimfield.

PORTAGE COUNTY, Ohio — The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed a tornado touch down in the city of Brimfield in Portage County on Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 2:32 p.m., an EF0 tornado was confirmed to have formed and touched down with an estimated peak wind speed of 65 mph.

The NWS said the touch down took place near an industrial building parking lot before moving onto a nearby golf course. The tornado damaged trees and a footbridge. No injuries were reported.
