CLEVELAND — There's one thing that has been missing this November: snow.
It looks like next week we'll have our first shot at accumulations in Northeast Ohio. That's why we're declaring Weather Impact Alert Days for Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday next week.
A potent storm system will be developing in the Plains States on Monday. This will bring rain and wind into our area for what I am calling "Transition Tuesday." We'll have a wonderfully mild day in the 60s, but that doesn't last long.
Wednesday will be a calm day in between as the storm system reorganizes to our north.
And then Thursday ... a stronger storm system sets up in the Great Lakes. This will tap into colder air aloft and drag colder air into our area at the surface for the rest of the week. This will keep rain going and set up the good possibility of snow mixing in.
At times, we will have all snow falling. That will primarily happen in the higher terrain areas and for the entire area during nighttime hours.
This probably won't be fluffy snow. We'll end up with wet snow and at times, graupel will likely be falling. It is still WAY too early to start putting any kind of snow numbers out there, but I will say we are looking at least some accumulations.
Bottom line: We are keeping an eye on wintry weather impacts for next week.
