CLEVELAND — Editor's note: Video in the player above was originally published moments before the weather alerts were extended Friday morning.
The Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories were extended in multiple counties throughout Northeast Ohio until 10 a.m. Friday -- which is three hours later than they were originally set to expire.
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect, however, for Ashtabula County until 1 p.m.
Here are the counties that were under a winter weather alert...
WINTER STORM WARNING UNTIL 10 A.M.
- Cuyahoga
- Geauga
- Lake
- Lorain
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY UNTIL 10 A.M.
- Medina
- Portage
- Summit
- Trumbull
Forecasters had said these areas could expect additional snow accumulation with gusty winds up to 35 mph possible. Icy conditions are also a concern.
The extension of these weather alerts came as snow continued falling throughout Northeast Ohio just after the region was pelted with rainy conditions that transitioned into freezing rain and sleet before snowfall returned late Thursday.
"If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency," the National Weather Service warned.
