Akron Fire Department puts out 3 house fires, 1 apartment fire over past week

No injures were reported from any of the fires.

AKRON, Ohio — Akron Fire Crews have helped extinguish fires from three residential buildings over the past week.

Details from each of the fires can be seen below:

Fire 1

The Akron Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at a single-family home on the 700 block of Raymond Street.

The fire was found at approximately 2:21 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19, with heavy smoke and fire coming from the attic of the house.

Fire crews attempted to put the fire out from the inside, but had to evacuate the house before putting it out from the outside of the house.

Firefighters were successfully able to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.

Fire 2

On Sunday, Jan. 21 at approximately 12:45 p.m. on the 2400 block of Congo Street, firefighters responded to a report of a shed on fire that was quickly spreading to the attic of a nearby residential building. 

Fire crews were able to contain the fire and put it out before it spread any further. No injuries were reported.

Fire 3

The Akron Fire Department responded to an apartment fire on the 400 block of Perkins Road at approximately 8:31 a.m. on  Tuesday, Jan. 23. 

A small amount of smoke and fire was observed in the attic area of the apartment when firefighters arrived.

The fire was quickly contained before it spread to other areas of the building.

No injuries were reported.

Fire 4

On Tuesday, Jan. 23 at approximately 1:13 p.m., Akron firefighters responded to reports of a fire that could be seen through the second story window of a single-family house on the 800 block of Work Drive.

Fire crews entered the house upon arrival and were able to put out the fire from inside of the structure.

No injuries were reported. The Red Cross was notified to assist the family due to the damage sustained to the house from the fire.
