CLEVELAND — Flacco Fever is in full swing right now as the Cleveland Browns prepare for their playoff game at Houston.
Trending online this week is a fake "Flacco Makes Them Pay" billboard. The photoshopped nod to Cleveland's own Tim Misny was first posted by instagram account @Reflog_18 earlier this week, and quickly gained traction on social media.
It even caught the attention of Misny, who took it one step further by commissioning a REAL billboard of his own. Said billboard is also generating lots of buzz because by now, as Clevelanders, we have simply come to accept the fact that no matter where we are in town, at any given moment, we are inevitably being stared at by Tim Misny.
Even now as you read this, there is almost certainly an enormous visual representation of the omnipresent, smooth-headed barrister, glaring at you from somewhere within your eye-line.
So when I saw that Misny's new billboard reads "Go Flacco, Make Them Pay," I knew there was a story behing it. Because if there's one thing I know about Tim Misny, it's that he is quite protective of his branding and he rarely wants to lend that out or share it in any way.
"Not only is it unprecedented, but I could be doing this for another 150 years and this is never going to happen again," Misny told me.
It all comes down to his support for Flacco himself.
"What I really like about this guy is that first and foremost, he's a family man. And isn't that refreshing? That's what Clevelanders are. Clevelanders, I'll tell you, Clevelanders have no sense of entitlement. We work hard for everything we got. We have a sense of family and a sense of faith, and he embodies that."
So let's "Make Them Pay," and Go Browns!
