CLEVELAND — On your mark… Get set… Go!
The Cleveland Metroparks Race Series is back this year, featuring four events that are “designed to encourage exploration and exercise throughout the year.”
The first race kicks off with the Earth Day 5K at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo at 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 21. Participants will receive entry into the zoo, refreshments, a custom race shirt and medal.

A portion of the proceeds from the Earth Day 5K will be used to support green practices and sustainability efforts at the zoo.
Additional races for the 2024 series include:
- Whiskey Island 5K on August 25: Explore the Whiskey Island Trail and Wendy Park Bridge to benefit Cleveland Metroparks K-9 unit.
- Future For Wildlife 5K on October 6: Help Cleveland Metroparks Zoo secure a future for wildlife by running for conservation efforts to protect animals in the wild.
- Veterans 5K on November 10: Walk or run through Edgewater Beach in honor of our nation’s veterans.
Pre-registration for each race is $30, or take the CrossCountry Mortgage challenge and sign up for all four races to save $20.
