CLEVELAND — Mental health has become an important topic of conversation over the past several years, but during a time like this, many are finding themselves struggling with the state of the world.
That is why the Hope Meadows Foundation has teamed up with the Cleveland Metroparks Mounted Unit to put on a ‘Parade of Hope’ through the streets of Newburgh Heights.
The parade will feature a small brigade of horses, and Hope Meadows staff will be leaving packets of coloring books, magnets, stress balls, and stickers on the end of the driveway to parade watchers. Those in the parade will follow social and physical distancing guidelines as well, and will be wearing masks and gloves throughout the route.
The City of Newburgh Heights is encouraging residents to watch from their porch or their yard, and of course, remember to stay a safe distance away and follow protocols put in place by Governor Mike Dewine.
“Mental health is more important than ever as we face challenging circumstances and stay at home orders. Our goal is to promote positive mental health by encouraging families to get outside and spend time in nature,” read a statement from the Hope Meadows Foundation, “This is indeed at the heart and mission of both the Cleveland Metroparks and Hope Meadows Foundation.”
The first parade will kick off from the Metroparks Golf Course at 2:00 p.m., and will march all the way to Newburgh Heights City Hall.
