CLEVELAND — After multiple nominations, the Dave Matthews Band has finally been selected for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland with the class of 2024.
“Dave Matthews Band is honored to be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class Of 2024,” according to a post on their Facebook page after the inductees were announced Sunday night. “Congrats to our fellow nominees and thanks so much to all of our fans for the support! #VOTEDMBEVERYDAY #RockHall2024”
Dave Matthews Band's induction comes after they won the 2024 fan vote -- but it's not the first time they took the top spot in the annual ballot. Despite winning the Rock Hall fan vote back in 2020, the band ultimately wasn't selected for induction that year.
"Congratulations to our fellow nominees that will be inducted into the @rockhall in 2020," the band posted on social media back in January 2020. "We want to express gratitude for all of our amazing fans and their support. We reached over a million fan votes! Thank you!"
Dave Matthews Band will officially join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when the 2024 induction ceremony is held at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on Saturday, Oct. 19. The 2024 class, which features 16 inductees, also includes Cher, Mary J. Blige, Jimmy Buffett, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Dionne Warwick and more.
