SANDUSKY, Ohio — Cedar Point may be closed for the season, but the company’s resorts Castaway Bay and Sawmill Creek are getting into the Christmas spirit with special events to celebrate the 2024 holiday season.
Here are the holiday offerings…
Castaway Christmas
Nov. 22 – Dec. 31
You can dive into the holiday fun at Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay year-round water park, which features daily meet-and-greet opportunities with Santa Claus, Christmas singalongs, holiday-themed competitions, arts and crats, live performances by a steel drum band and more.
“Castaway Bay’s resident characters like Gordy the sea turtle and Flo the flamingo will meet guests throughout their stay,” according to a press release.
Looking for a different way to ring in 2025? Castaway Bay will feature a “Noon-Year’s Eve” celebration on Dec. 31 “giving kids the chance to create party hats, echo the halls with noisemakers and count down to 2025 in their own special way.”

Season of Joy at Sawmill Creek
Nov. 29 – Dec. 31
Highlights include various holiday music from “The Mistletones” songbirds and the “Sawmill Carolers,” along with the “Holiday Helper Hotline” show that features “festive music, heartwarming moments and questionable holiday advice to the audience.”
There’s also the “Holiday Hideout,” which is a pop-up bar.
“For a nominal fee, guests can enjoy the S’mores & More bar for customized sweet treats or take part in ‘A Taste of the Season’ where they’ll learn how to create holiday-themed libations just in time for family get-togethers,” according to a press release. “Paint & Sip comes to Season of Joy, giving guests the opportunity to create their own work of canvas art accompanied by wine or a cocktail.”
It all culminates with “The Toast of the North Coast New Year’s Eve party” on Dec. 31 with live music, drinks, food and, of course, counting down until midnight.
