Cedar Point worker run over by vehicle in parking lot, police arrest alleged hit-and-run driver in Michigan

A witness told Sandusky police the driver of a Cadillac Escalade ran over both of the Cedar Point employee's legs.

SANDUSKY, Ohio — Police have arrested the driver of a Cadillac Escalade who allegedly ran over a Cedar Point traffic employee in the parking lot last week before leaving the scene.

According to Sandusky Police Chief Jared Oliver, 26-year-old Riley J. Brock was arrested at a residence in Southgate, Michigan. Brock has been charged with failing to stop after an accident on private property, a felony of the fourth degree. 

A Sandusky police report obtained by 3News shows the incident happened near pole 28A shortly after 8 p.m. on Friday, May 10.

A witness told police he saw the Cedar Point parking lot worker fall to the ground as the vehicle ran over both of his legs, according to the report. The witness also reported that he ran up to the vehicle’s window and yelled at the driver to stop, but stated they didn’t look in his direction and kept on driving.

The worker, who was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, told police he was bent over picking up an item when the vehicle struck him.

“He began yelling, but the vehicle continued and drove over his legs then kept going,” according to the police report.

Sandusky police did not elaborate on the extent of the Cedar Point employee’s injuries.

The police report also states the department has video of the incident, and found the vehicle is registered in Southgate, Michigan. Police in that community have been notified and asked to tow the vehicle for investigation if it's located.

Cedar Point did not provide a statement when asked about the incident, advising 3News to get details connected to this case from Sandusky police.
