CLEVELAND — On Wednesday, Cleveland Scene released its annual "Best of Cleveland" awards. The magazine says the awards "celebrate the very best reasons and places for Clevelanders to get together."
The poll was launched in March and voting on Scene's website wrapped up last month.
3News is proud that several of our on-air anchors and personalities were honored this year.
In the "Best of Cleveland 2020: Arts and Entertainment" awards, our Mike Polk Jr. won in the Best Comedian category.
In the "Best of Cleveland 2020: People and Places" awards, 3News received several accolades:
- Best Sports Reporter - Jim Donovan
- Best Anchor - Betsy Kling, Russ, Mitchell, and Jim Donovan were among the five favorites in Cleveland
- Best Newscast - Second place
Unfortunately, there won't be an awards gathering or party this year because of COVID-19.
But we loved this quote from Scene about this year's awards:
"We may not be able to get together like we used to, but we can still cheer each other on from a distance. Let it ring out loud and clear across the city that this is the very best of Cleveland in the worst of times, and we wouldn't rather safely enjoy it from a responsible distance while wearing a mask with anyone else."
Thank you Scene for carrying on with this tradition. And thank you to all who voted.
