CLEVELAND — The daughter of beloved Cleveland meteorologist Dick Goddard is seeking prayers for her father.
On Wednesday, Goddard’s daughter Kim took to social media saying, “My Dad is dying. Going to be off social for a while," she said in a Facebook post.
According to a source close to the family, Goddard has been ill since January after a bout with pneumonia. He is currently living in Florida.
The 89-year-old got his start in television at WKYC (then known as KYW) in December 1960 when he appeared on Linn Sheldon's "Barnaby" show.
In November 2016, Goddard announced his retirement from WJW with plans to focus on animal advocacy. He saw great improvement in the field after the passing of "Goddard’s Law," making animal cruelty a felony.
