AKRON, Ohio — "What's New" went on the road on Thursday as we took the show to the Akron Zoo as part of our Classic Cleveland Summer series.
You'll find more than 1,000 animals from around the world at the Akron Zoo, including tigers, snow leopards, red pandas, penguins, komodo dragons and many more.
The zoo is open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. Click here to purchase tickets and get more information.

Immigrant Heritage Day
- Saturday, June 25
- 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Akron Zoo is joining forces with Stan Hywet Hall & Garden for a fun-filled day of crafts and games! Guests will learn about Akron rich cultural history through local multicultural organizations. All activities are included with admission.
Paws and Reflect
- Saturday, July 2
- 8 – 10 a.m.
Find your inner Zen with some yoga at the Akron Zoo. This all-levels class takes place before the zoo opens and includes mimosas, breakfast bites and a unique animal encounter. All proceeds benefit the Akron Zoo's Conservation Fund. Tickets are available at akronzoo.org.
Princess and Pirate Day
- Saturday, July 9
- 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Argh, matey! Wear your favorite pirate or princess costume to the zoo and enjoy a scavenger hunt and themed activities. All activities are included with admission.
Brew at the Zoo
- Saturday, July 16
- 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.
The Akron Zoo’s popular beer tasting event! Guests will enjoy beer and wine from local breweries, all while enjoying the zoo after hours. This event is 21 and older only. Tickets are available at akronzoo.org.
