The first official trailer for "Black Widow" is out, and in it the character of former Russian spy Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johanson, meets up with her so-called family to take care of some unfinished business.
The trailer introduces us to Natasha's "sis," the character of Yelena Bolova played by actor Florence Pugh, who becomes the second Black Widow in the comic book series.
As of Monday morning, the trailer was trending number one on YouTube, and social media users were very excited about Black Widow finally getting a solo project after ten years.
Yes, that’s right. This is Johansson's ninth appearance in a Marvel film as Black Widow, after debuting in 2010’s Iron Man 2 as Pepper Pott's assistant.
One fan took it upon themselves to share their own version of the ten year challenge, showing Johannson as Black Widow in Iron Man 2 next to Johansson in the Black Widow trailer on the right.
"Black Widow" takes place in the two year time gap between "Captain America: Civil War" and "Avengers: Infinity War," and people are glad for this time travel (Avengers: End Game spoiler ahead) because Black Widow sacrificed herself and died at the end of the last Avengers movie.
Marvel has said we get to learn why Black Widoe had to die in this solo feature, which comes out in May according to the movie’s IMDB page.
