CLEVELAND — Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has expanded its online virtual classroom to include a third live stream at 3:30 p.m. each weekday via their Facebook page. In addition to the two live streams at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., which focus on zoo animals and outdoor experiences, the third stream will focus on and teach outdoor recreation skills with the Metropark's experienced outdoor recreation team. The outdoor recreation class will focus of backpacking, watersports and park exploration.
Each virtual classroom also offers the opportunity for parents who participate with children 12 and under to earn achievements for free food and drink.
Participants can watch and interact as they learn about different insects and inhabitants and even get a behind the scenes look at what operations are like when the Zoo isn't operating as normal.
Participants can also meet and learn about new additions to the zoo.
There was even a pop quiz show to test knowledge and recap learning!
“Parks and nature have become an outlet for guests to find solace during this challenging time,” said Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman. “Now more than ever, connecting with nature is a way to stay busy, active and find peace.”
