KIRTLAND, Ohio — There are no signs of spring outside with snow this weekend, but at Lake Metroparks Farmpark, they are everywhere!
This time of year on the farm means a baby boom, and 3News was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the cuteness on Saturday. From piglets to calves and cute little lambs, farm workers prep for the baby overload all year long.
Those who visit can even see a bottle feed or the animals snuggling up to their mams. Depending on their species, the babies need specific care, and that's something animal experts take seriously on the farm.
"This lamb is being supplemented with some milk because its mom had three babies," Wendy Vacik explained while holding one of the babies. "Mom only has two spots to drink from. which means one of the lambs does not get to drink all the time. ... Most of the lambs in here, though, are fed by mom."
The Farmpark is open from Tuesday through Sunday, and you can get tickets online or at the door. Admission is $8 for most, but discounts are available for seniors as well as kids 11 and under.
