TownHall’s Feed The Need event set to serve thousands free Thanksgiving meals

Feed The Need is expected to serve 4,000 meals to families in need this Thanksgiving.

CLEVELAND — Some of Cleveland's top athletes, including Donovan Mitchell and Myles Garrett, will join TownHall in Ohio City for its 11th annual Feed The Need event on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

The event, which is taking place from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., aims to serve 4,000 free turkey dinners to those in need ahead of Thanksgiving. Since the event's inception, TownHall has served over 45,000 meals to community members in need.

This year’s event will feature participation from athletes, including Cleveland Cavaliers Mitchell and Darius Garland, as well as Cleveland Browns Garrett, Denzel Ward, David Njoku, Joe Bitonio, Greg Newsome II, Wyatt Teller and Jameis Winston.

Former Cleveland Browns players Bernie Kosar, Josh Cribbs and Joe Haden will also join the effort.

Leading up to the event, TownHall is collecting gently used winter clothing, including coats, hats, scarves, sweaters and gloves, at their Ohio City location and at Rebol.

The donated items will be available during the event to help attendees prepare for the cold months ahead.

TownHall's staff will also deliver turkey meals to local animal shelters, including City Dogs, Cleveland APL and the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter, as part of their Feed The Breed initiative.

"TownHall will be raising and matching funds to support St. Augustine Hunger Center and their ongoing efforts to feed those in need. 100% of all donations will help benefit St. Augustine to make a small impact on their incredible commitment of providing the Homeless community free meals three times a day, 364 days a year," said event organizers in a press release.

Those interested in supporting the event can donate gently used winter clothing at TownHall or Rebol. Donations can also be made through the TownHall + Rebol app, with curbside drop-off available. Donors will receive a free organic coffee or bone broth.
