AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Zoo will be presenting its 35th annual Boo at the Zoo coming up this October.
Boo at the Akron Zoo will take place Saturdays and Sundays on Oct. 14-15, 21-22 and 28-29 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Online ticket holders can enter the event at 10:30 am.
Guests are encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes as they trick-or-treat at the 12 themed stations throughout the zoo.
Boo at the Zoo is a non-scary event. While guests of all ages are permitted to dress in costume, adults are prohibited from covering their face with costume masks, mascot heads or face paint.
The Akron Zoo is also participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project, which provides non-food options for any guest with food allergies. Guests can request a Teal Pumpkin treat at each station. Also, there will be a "Zoothing Boo at the Zoo" on Saturday Oct. 28 at 9:30 a.m. for guests to trick-or-treat without loud noises or crowds before the zoo opens for general admission. Those tickets are sold separately from general admission, with a limited number available to help control crowd sizes.
Tickets for Boo at the Zoo are on sale now at akronzoo.org/boo-at-the-zoo. Tickets purchased online are available at a discounted rate. Treaters are $13, non-member observers are $10 and parking/shuttle fee is $3. Tickets purchase at the door at the zoo are $15 for treaters and $12 for non-member observers. Parking/shuttle fee is $5.
