PARMA, Ohio — People are lined up on Rousseau Drive in Parma, and it's not for a pierogi sale.
They're here for a devilishly good scare at the Haunted Yard in Parma.
Created in 1988, Joel Andexler, his brother Eric, and an army of volunteers spend months on the designing the attraction that now takes up four backyards.
"We've had people that went through the haunted yard as teenagers and now their taking their kids through then their kids are taking their kids through the Haunted Yard now," explains Joel.
"The Haunted Yard in Parma has become a vacation destination," laughs Eric, who also tells us that there are return visitors from Florida here on Friday night.
Proceeds from this haunted attraction are donated to the Parma Animal Shelter. Last year, their Halloween fundraising efforts were able to raise over $6,000.00 in donations for the shelter.
"To donate to something local and especially for animals in need, you really can't ask for no more," Eric adds.
The Haunted Yard will trigger your adrenaline, I can assure you, but the frights are for a good cause.
You can check out the Haunted Yard through Sunday, October 30th. There is an $8.00 entrance fee per person, which will benefit the Parma Animal Shelter.
