WinterLand tree lighting ceremony in Public Square happening on Saturday

It's time to get festive! Ice skating, live music, food, Santa and the main event: The tree lighting.

CLEVELAND — Are you ready to kick off the holiday season in Northeast Ohio? The WinterLand tree lighting ceremony at Public Square is happening this week in downtown Cleveland.

This quintessential holiday tradition in Cleveland's Public Square is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 25. You can bring your family and friends for a day of music, food, entertainment, holiday activities and fireworks. And, as always, Santa and a few of his friends will be there!

The main program for the tree lighting will run from 4-6:30 p.m., but you can start celebrating hours before with a day packed full of festivities in downtown Cleveland. See the schedule below!

  • Ice Skating at the Cleveland Foundation Skating Rink: 12-10 p.m.
  • RTA Holiday Trolley: 12-6 p.m.
  • Live Stage Show featuring Apostle Jones & Josiah Rogers: 4-6 p.m.
  • Tree Lighting: 6 p.m.
  • Fireworks Spectacular: Immediately following the tree lighting

If you can't make it, don't worry. The WinterLand set up will be open through February.

“This quintessential holiday experience always delights people of all ages, and we’re excited about this opportunity to bring the community together every year,” Michael Deemer, Downtown Cleveland, Inc. President & CEO, said in September. “We welcome everyone to join us for this Downtown Cleveland tradition and to come back throughout the winter for an array of programs and events. We are grateful to our sponsors, Bedrock, K&D Group, and other partners, that make this beloved celebration possible.”
