CLEVELAND — The year 2020 may be behind us, but we’re all still feeling the effects of a long, hard trip around the sun, which is why avoiding burnout is just as important as trying to keep up with New Year’s resolutions.
I’ve never been a New Year's resolution person, myself, but especially this year, it seems like trying to go above and beyond to better ourselves would be asking a lot.
That's why this week on the 3 Things to Know podcast, we're kicking off 2021 with a focus on foregoing major life changes and instead learning how to avoid the burnout that comes from simply maintaining the status quo, with advice from Mindshift Expert and Certified Life Coach Lynn Janovich.
3News' Mark Naymik also joins me to share what we Need to Know in NEO about secret places to get away and his own creative spin on what gets him through the day to day.
And to close the episode out, I share why Greg Murray, (spoiler alert) the animal photographer, is such A Good Follow on Instagram.
Janovich, who is also a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming, and trained in clinical hypnosis and energy work, tells me that preventing burnout can be best achieved with small daily habits, and giving ourselves graces when we feel overwhelmed.
"Meditating is very important," Janovich says. "I know meditating is challenging. It's challenging for me too because my brain is always going. That’s another thing to give ourselves grace about right, because it takes practice."
That's just one example that Janovich shares of how we can avoid burnout and recharge in our everyday lives.
