The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating a shooting that took the life of one person and injured two others on Monday evening. They have also identified the suspect wanted for the shooting.
Officers were called to the 3400 block of W. 94th Street for a report of a man shot at around 11:10 p.m. Once at the scene, police discovered that three people had been wounded.
A 30-year-old woman was found with wounds to the chest and back inside a house. A 24-year-old man sustained wounds to the shoulder and face, while a 36-year-old man was shot in the shoulder. The two men were found outside.
All three were taken by EMS to MetroHealth. The female victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Upon investigation, the Cleveland Division of Police's Homicide Unit discovered that the female victim and the 36-year-old man lived at the W. 94th Street home as boyfriend and girlfriend. The 36-year-old man and the 24-year-old man were sitting in a vehicle belonging to another man at the scene, when the suspect came out of the house and began shooting at the car while the victims were inside.
It is believed that the suspect shot the woman inside of the house before he came outside. He then fled the scene in the vehicle the victims were in and left.
Detectives found three firearms at the scene.
The suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Deonte Fudge. He is a relative of one of the men shot and sometime stays at the house.
Fudge is or was driving a red Mercury Sable with Ohio license plate JLP9794. He is believed to be armed with multiple firearms.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Deonte Fudge is asked to call 911. Anonymous information can be provided by calling Crimestoppers at 216-25-CRIME and a cash reward of up to $5,000 may be available.
